Women sometimes suffer from tender or painful breast. Usually the causes of these pains are something that isn’t serious. But yes they are annoying. To get rid of the pain, you need to identify the cause.

Here are some common reasons as to why your breasts are crying out in pain :

1) PMS


This is the most common reason for Breasts pain caused by swelling or tenderness that comes during period of hormonal changes when your period is due or comes along. The estrogen levels in your body cause this tenderness and pain and  there is nothing to worry as it disappears the moment you get your monthly period.

2) Increased workouts

Suddenly increasing your workout can cause the breast tissue to hurt as these pectoral muscles can become sore after too much of tightening and relaxing. Applying heating pads will help alleviate the pain caused by upping your workout.

3) Lack of support while working out

You need the right support when you exercise. Breasts that are not supported jiggle and hurt the tissue. Get fitted and make sure the Bra doesn’t dig in, spill over or cause your breasts to bounce.

4) Lumpy breasts

Lumpy breasts are usually caused by fibrocystic breasts tissue. These women face lumpy breasts more during hormonal changes and close to the date of their menstruation cycle that causes breast tenderness. Lumpy breast tissue does not mean cancerous lumps or cysts but actually tissue that is sensitive to hormonal changes.

5) Wrongly fitted bra

The Wrong Bra can seriously affect your chest. If the bra is too tight then the Underwire might dig in or the breasts can get squashed leading to bruises and sore breasts. And if the bra is too loose the breasts can bounce all over the  place and cause the breast tissue to become tender and hurt.

6) Drinking too much coffee

There is no direct link between drinking caffeine and breast pain. But women with a tendency of breast fibroids or fibrocystic breast tissue can cut down their coffee cups drunk a day. Research has shown that reducing coffee consumption reduces discomfort and pain.
